7 necessary details in New Year's decorations and their importance

New Year is magical. It doesn't matter if we believe in fairy tales, surreal and unfulfilled dreams, we still meet him with the expectation of news and good news.

New Year's decorations have great power in the magical mood. Correctly and tastefully selected accessories naturally create a festive mood, and whether we like it or not, we also start thinking about fairy fairies and Santa Claus sitting on the marquee.

So, which items are needed in New Year's decorations and what is the symbolic meaning of each one:

Christmas tree

The first, of course, is the Christmas tree. The tradition of decorating an evergreen conifer tree for Christmas began in Germany. However, before the Christmas tree took on the Christian mantle, it is said that many pagan Roman and Anglo-Saxon holidays passed through it. Today it is the most important New Year's attribute of the modern world.

Santa Claus

The idea of Santa Claus, aka Santa Claus, is connected to the saint of the Christian world, Nicholas. Over time, many fairy tales have been added to it, and today we all know how Santa with a marquee falls in the snowy mountains of Lapland with flying reindeer.

Gnomes/dwarfs

We know dwarf creatures with a cold nose and a long beard from the mythology of different peoples of the world. The Scandinavian myth invited them to the Christmas table and made them guests of honor in the New Year's decoration. Did you know that Scandinavian children make porridge for the gnomes in the garden, and they bring gifts in return?!

Christmas elves

Elves originated many centuries ago in ancient Germanic and Scandinavian fairy tales. The Christmas elf appeared in America in the 19th century and was brought to us as Santa's helper. Good creatures with pointy ears and a hat are mostly seen in green clothes and help Santa prepare presents. Along with them, we should not forget the beautiful fairies, who are associated with eternal beauty and the fulfillment of wishes.

Christmas lights and candles

New Year's lights have great power. Streets, gardens and interiors illuminated in different colors are an indispensable part of the festive mood of winter. Candles also have a symbolic meaning, both religious and decorative.

Christmas tree toys - balls and garlands

New Year's garlands, aka "rains", usually have an association with ice. This year, as they say, bluish color dominates, so we can safely use bluish-gray balls and garlands to decorate the Christmas tree. Blue is a color loaded with symbols, and most important is its depth and sense of calm.

The ringing of bells on ceremonial occasions has a long history. On pagan holidays, it was used to drive away evil spirits. At Christmas and New Year's events, the bells and the star took on symbolic significance as signs confirming the birth of Jesus. That is why a star is often attached to the top of the Christmas tree, and sometimes an angel. These are the main nuances of New Year's decor. How you arrange it aesthetically, what you add or subtract, is a matter of taste. The main thing is the desire for the decoration to create a festive and magical atmosphere.
